Public Notice – Bid Request for Tree Trimming: Per WI State Statute 60.47(2)(a) The Town of Troy is hereby giving notice that it will be obtaining quotes for the trimming of trees within the Town Right of Way.  This includes trimming of overhanging branches that are lower than 16 feet above the road surface.  Right of way is considered 33 feet off centerline of the road.  The approved contractor must be able to cut and remove all of the clippings by either chipping or hauling and must also grind stumps below surface.  If interested in providing the service, please submit a per hour rate and per day rate.  This quote will be for the calendar year 2023.  If you have any questions, please contact the Town Shop located at 654 Glover Road, Hudson, WI  54016 or call 715-425-2665 during the office hours of Monday – Thursday, 9:00am – 2:00pm or by appointment.

Board of Review and Open Book

Letters will be coming from Bowmar if you haven’t received one yet.  This notice is to give additional information and serve as notice to the upcoming dates.  

The Town of Troy has completed the revaluation of all real and personal property in Town for 2022.  The revaluation was conducted to comply with State Law to ensure each property owner is being assessed fairly and equitable while bringing current assessments into compliance of full value.  The 2022 value reflects the estimated market value of your property on January 1, 2022.  The previous assessment was based on the last municipal-wide revaluation which occured 13 years ago in 2009, any change in value tht occurred represents a 13-year period between the two valuations, not just one year.  

If you have any questions concering your new valuation, there will be informal hearings conducted by Bowmar Appraisal.  We strongly encourage you to call or email our office first as many concerns can be resolved over the telephone.  If you would prefer to meet and discuss individually with one of the appraisers in person, the informal (open book) hearings will be held at Town Hall at the following times by appointment only.  Please bring your notice of assessment along with any pertinent information concering the value of your property with you.

The Town of Troy Board of Review will be held on November 10, 2022, at Troy Town Hall.  Please take the time to contact Bowmar Appraisal before filing any Board of Review objection form.  Appearances are by appointment only at the Board of Review meeting and objection forms must be filed with the Town Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the Board of Review.  When appearing at the Board of REview, the taxpayer must be prepared to present evidence as o why they feel the assessed value is incorrect.  The Board of Review functions like a court in that it is necessary to evaluate evidence based on facts.  NO changes in value can be made after the Board of Review.
