Seasonal Town Road Weight Restrictions Take Effect March 6, 2025
Seasonal road weight restrictions will be posted on all Town of Troy managed roads on March 6th 2025 per Wisconsin Statute §349.16. Restrictions will be removed when justified by road conditions and an additional notice will be published.
More information on detailed restrictions and County Roads is available at:

Exemptions from weight restrictions:
WI State Statues allow exemptions under certain conditions for emergency septic tank pumping, utility repairs, and propane deliveries.
Town of Troy Specific Exemptions:
The Town of Troy, with approval from the Town Board at the January 19, 2025 meeting, has issued the following additional exemptions:
- Xcel Energy, to perform maintenance work on Ilwaco Road from County Road F to the intersection of North Ilwaco Road and South Ilwaco Road. This work is in preparation for resurfacing of that section of Ilwaco Road later this summer.
- Waste Management, along Mann Valley Drive (from County U to Towns Valley Road) and along Towns Valley Road (from Mann Valley Drive to the Troy Disposal Center) to support removal of recycling and waste from the Disposal Center)
- Waste Management, on the roads where they have contracted customers, under limited times and conditions they have volunteered to implement to limit the risk to Town roads from their overweight vehicles.
- GFL, on the roads where they have contracted customers, under limited times and conditions they have volunteered to implement to limit the risk to Town roads from their overweight vehicles.
Additional exemptions may be issued by the Town Chairperson, Doug Rowen.
Communications about the status of an individual company’s service during this period should be directed to those companies.
The following bulletin gives additional information on the rationale for seasonal weight restrictions:
The Town of Troy Disposal Center at Chinnock Lane and Towns Valley Road is open during normal hours.
We are reducing the loading of containers from the Troy Disposal Center to minimize the weight/road impacts during the restrictions and have defined a 3-mile route for those trucks to protect the other 91 miles of roads in the Town.
The Town of Troy does not contract with any waste haulers for curbside pickup, nor does it require residents to use curbside pickup. Those services are through direct agreements between individual residents and the waste companies.
