Paid On-Call Fire Fighter Job Opportunity
Working with the City of Hudson, the Town is planning on constructing a new fire substation, centrally located in the Town. With a planned opening in December of 2026, the station will decrease drive time of fire trucks to most of the homes in Troy.
In particular, the City is looking for 8-10 firefighters that live and/or work in the Town of Troy to support a new fire station being built in Troy.
Firefighters are paid on a per call basis for attendance at emergencies, meetings, training, etc. The rate of pay varies based on the level of training for each firefighter. Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of application with Wisconsin FFI (or equivalent) and Wisconsin Emergency Medical Responder preferred but not required.
Key to the operation of this Fire Substation will be the recruitment of part-time (paid on call) volunteers. Hudson Fire Chief Drew Spielman said “We need at least eight volunteers to make the building functional as a fire substation. Applications are currently being accepted on the City of Hudson website: https://hudsonwi.gov/336/City-Employment. Training will begin in August of 2025.
