COULEE TRAIL UPDATE: PAVING PREPARATION AND ASPHALT WORK SCHEDULED

COULEE TRAIL UPDATE: Paving Preparation and Asphalt Work Scheduled

The Coulee Trail rehabilitation project is moving into the next phase. Paving preparation work will continue this weekend. Please plan accordingly and consider using alternate routes to avoid active work areas.

Upcoming Construction Activity:

  • Saturday, July 19: General pavement preparation work will be ongoing. The road base will be removed and repaired near the Forest Rise intersection on the west end of the project. Traffic will be restricted to one lane during that time.
  • Monday, July 21: Paving of the first lift of asphalt is scheduled. Construction flaggers will be on site to manage traffic flow around active paving areas. Access through the corridor may be temporarily restricted or delayed, but local traffic will be accommodated. Paving work may continue on Tuesday to complete the scheduled work.
  • Following Initial Paving: Site restoration work – including shoulder shaping, ditch work, and reestablishment of vegetation – will begin after the first asphalt lift is installed. Once restoration is substantially complete, the paving crew will return to install the final surface lift of asphalt.

Project Status Summary:

The project continues to progress on schedule. Recent work has included culvert installation, subgrade preparation, aggregate base placement, and erosion control measures. We appreciate everyone’s continued patience and cooperation as we work through these final stages.
