“Play Today, Plan for Tomorrow” Visioning Workshop to be held in the Town of Troy.

The Town of Troy is kicking off the process to formally update its 5-Year Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan, or CORP as it is commonly known. This process is expected to be completed before next summer. The planning process will initially rely on receiving up-front ideas and opinions from residents, landowners, and other stakeholders on the condition of the Town’s existing parks and trails, as well as how it might expand in the future.

The Town is working with Cedar Corporation to prepare the plan update. The “Play Today, Plan for Tomorrow” slogan embraces the idea that in order to have a highly functional and valued park/trail system which meets the needs of residents and visitors, a community must first take the time to strategically plan for it.

This CORP update process will kick off with a community-wide interactive Visioning Workshop to be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon at the Hein Pavilion in Glover Park, 428 N. Glover Rd., Hudson WI. This open-house style workshop will seek opinions on a variety of broad and specific topics relating to parks and recreation, including pedestrian trails and bicycle routes. Participants can provide their input in as little as 10 minutes, or they can spend an hour or more responding to a variety of interactive exercises designed to gather information and opinions.

Jill Berke, the Town’s Park Board Chair, expressed the importance of “residents and stakeholders participating in this event so that early feedback can help further guide the planning process, and ultimately, its results. This is a great opportunity for residents’ voices to be heard on what the future of our Town’s park and trail system could or should look like.”

A more in-depth, on-line Recreation Users Survey will be used as another major ‘listening tool’ and will be available starting this fall.
