Scheduled Prescribed Burn @ Carpenter Nature Center

Carpenter Nature Center will be conducting a prescribed burn on approximately 40 acres of its prairie. If conditions allow, the burn is scheduled to begin around 9:00 AM and is expected to be completed by about 3:00 PM.

Prescribed burns are a common land management tool used to control invasive species and restore native habitat. Trained crews will be on site with the necessary equipment and permits.

Residents may notice smoke in the area during the burn. If you have respiratory concerns, we recommend keeping windows closed and limiting time outdoors while smoke is present. Please avoid stopping or parking near the burn area, and use caution on nearby roads where smoke may reduce visibility.

The burn is weather dependent and will be postponed if wind, humidity, or temperature conditions are not within safe limits. For updates or questions, please contact Carpenter Nature Center at (651) 437-4359.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
